We like to have fun! We play hard and we pray hard and we would love to have you come join us! Upcoming events are listed below. Mark them on your calendar so that you can experience the good life with ONE UNITED! If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer here.
Pumpkin Patch is our biggest fundraiser for youth events for the whole year. Each youth from 7-12 grade has the opportunity to sign up to work a 2 hour shift at the pumpkin patch to earn money for events like retreats, missions, and even Camp!
Each shift has a few spots for youth to sign up and two spots for adults.
Hear that, parents? You can earn money toward your youth's account! To participate in this wonderful opportunity during the month of October, please email Jennifer in the youth office to have your email added to our online shift system. This online system allows you to sign up for shifts or trade shifts.
Please register here to get your email in the system. Contact Jennifer with any questions or technical issues with the site.
Navigating College Choices Seminar
Saturday, October 21, 2017
8:30am to 12:45pm
First United Methodist Church
If you are a current or prospective college student or a family member of someone who may choose to further their education after high school, you don’t want to miss out on this free event.
Parents: It is never too early or too late to learn about factors to consider when making these important choices. You may be living in a world of midnight feedings and diaper changes or you might be wishing time could slow down a bit as you prepare to guide your child through the season of college applications. Regardless of which end of the spectrum you find yourself on, this seminar is for you.
High school students: While it may seem like forever until you finish high school, chances are it will go by faster than you expect. Learn what your options are after graduation at this free event created specifically with you in mind.
What will you learn?
• The finances of college choice. What are the best ways to save for college? How can you minimize college debt? What are the best sources of financial aid?
• The college selection process. Public versus private schools, in-state and out-of-state choices, religious and social culture on campuses and graduation rates are just a few of the criteria to keep in mind when deciding whether or not a particular college is a good fit.
Who will present? Presenters will be senior officials from both public and private schools. Resources will be available to answer questions throughout the morning, too.
Our youth have always been a huge part of our annual Trunk or Treat! Please email Jennifer in the youth office to let her know of your interest in serving.
Ways to serve:

At our new fall retreat we will learn together what it means to be a Christian and do the work of the church in this digital age. We are more connected than ever, but are we any closer? How can we use social media to make a positive impact in the world aside from just posting pictures and liking statuses? Bring your devices and chargers and join us for a weekend to learn how to #church.
Join us on December 17 as we go from building to building celebrating this holiday season. We'll have caroling, food, games, and more!
Don't forget your ugly sweater as we'll have a contest for first & second place ugliest sweater!
